A:Hi Solomon, To answer your questions: 1) Sometimes we do ship overlength product at no extra charge to you depending on the available wood, profiles, etc. This effectively allows you more room for cutting during installation. I would not plan on product being overlength but if we have a choice of cutting and throwing away, we'd rather give you more of a safety margin to use during installation. 2) We sand unfinished product to 120 grit before shipping. This is the same process we would use if we were finishing in house but it's always best practice to lightly sand again before staining since the product has been boxed and travels to you after we sand. 3) This time of year is always tough with shipping because of holiday volume. We only use FedEx for our ground transportation. The alternative is to use freight shipping for a larger/heavier order. Freight also handles shipments as a whole (not individual cartons) so shipments typically tend to arrive in better condition overall. Regardless of the shipping method, if a product is damaged during shipping, we will replace it.
