The Low Country Maple Collection offers our white hard maple in three stain colors and a natural (prefinished clear) color. Stain colors available in our Low Country Maple include:
- Mt. Pleasant
- Sullivan's Island
- Georgetown
- Natural (Prefinished Clear)
These prefinished closed retro treads are the perfect products for do-it-yourselfers. Due to the retro style, these treads can be installed over your preexisting stairs without having to remove them. The box style means that these treads are meant to be installed in an area where there is a wall on both sides of the stair case. Because these maple treads are prefinished there is no need for the messy application of stain or numerous coats of polyurethane.

Builder grade retro-fit stair treads are an economical option to reface your staircase with real wood. Builder grade treads will have more character in the wood, including small knots and discoloration from mineral in the wood. There will also be more staves (up to 8) in these treads when compared to our standard Oak retros. Red Oak Retro Stair Tread 36" - 42" wide for overlaying an existing staircase with a wall on both sides (closed staircase).
Our Retro Treads are 11 1/2" wide and 3/4" thick behind the bullnose and are specifically designed to be installed over an existing staircase. Use unfinished Red Oak retro treads to apply your own stain and polyurethane on site after some minor prep-work, or order prefinished treads in one of our stock stain colors with our standard sheen UV finish or our new Low Sheen UV finish.
