Replacement Wood Stairs for Your Home Improvement Project in Utah, Virginia, Connecticut & Beyond

When you're ready to replace your stairs in your home improvement project, the retro replacement stair tread is your answer. Our solid wood replacement stair treads are designed to last and made from only the finest solid planks of clear grade lumber (yielding select grade stair treads). Our replacement stair treads are a full ¾ inch thick so they can be installed over an existing stairway. As with our traditional wood treads, these retro-fit stair treads are made from solid planks of the finest grade wood available.

To offer you a wider selection and match your stairs with your flooring, we have standard stain colors available for our Red Oak stair treads. These stains match many prefinished Red Oak flooring products from most flooring manufacturers. If you'd like to see the stain colors first-hand, you can even order a sample of all the colors!

There's no question that remodeling a staircase is much less expensive than completely demolishing your existing staircase and Stair-Treads.com is your stair remodeling partner. We sell solid wood stair treads in over 23 different and hard-to-find species to perfectly match your flooring including:

  • Brazilian Walnut (Lapacho or Ipe)
  • Black Walnut
  • Oak
  • Hickory
  • Mahogany
  • Pine
  • Maple
  • Dozens more!

To make your home improvement project easier, we sell our replacement stairs both unfinished and prefinished. Use unfinished wood stair treads to apply your own stain and polyurethane on site with some degree of sanding and minor prep-work. Our prefinished stair treads are coated with our unique UV cured Diamond Coat II finish. This finish is much more durable than any site-applied polyurethane and is much more Earth-friendly because it emits no evaporative emissions during the curing process.
