Product Questions and Answers
  1. Q:Thanks for the quick response. Please correct me if I am wrong, since the treads are real solid Ipe, in a way how the treads are constructed will also give the stairs a natural look to match the rest of the Ipe flooring. Do you have any reseller in Southern California area? I would like to take a look at the material before any purchase is made. Thanks a lot!
A:Yes - the treads are constructed in a way that resembles solid Ipe flooring but without the bevels between staves. We do our best to match the graining of the staves and many times, the individual staves are not even noticeable. In all, the treads should match beautifully with prefinished Ipe flooring. In order to bring you the best value, we sell our products directly to the customer through our website and we do not use any local distributors.
  2. Q:How does the color of this wood compare to Brazilian Chestnut?
A:Brazilian Walnut is typically has a different grain pattern and a darker shade. We do offer cumaru on our website which is another name for Brazilian Chestnut. http://www.stair-treads.com/retro-treads-and-risers/replacement-stair-treads/closed-box-treads.html?length=18&wood_species=59
