Red Oak

One of our most popular species of wood is red oak. The popularity of red oak is due to its common usage in the stained flooring industry. The overall cost of a red oak stair installation is based on if you decided to use treads that are unfinished or prefinished.

Unfinished Red Oak

A typical install of unfinished red oak consisting of 12 treads and 13 risers ranges from $500-$800. This price range is also based on what type of riser is used. If our primed white risers are used the cost is generally in the lower range of the price spectrum. If unfinished red oak risers are used the cost would be closer to the $800 range. The size of the treads and risers is also a determining factor in overall cost. 36" treads and risers will be closer to $500 and as the lengths increase so will the price. Some installations may require landing treads and landing panels which can push the cost of the overall order to $1,000. Our unfinished red oak treads are shipped ready for the application of stain and finish. Ordering unfinished treads will decrease the overall cost of your order but there is a lot of time and work required in staining and finishing treads. It is important to be familiar with the stain and finishing process prior to ordering unfinished treads.

Prefinished

Prefinished treads can save you time during your install because you do not have to dedicate time to staining and finishing the treads prior to installing them. An average cost of prefinished 12 treads and 13 risers can range from $800-$1,000. If you are using the primed white risers the cost of the stair install will typically be closer to $800 whereas if you were to use matching red oak risers the cost will be closer to the $1,000 range. As with unfinished treads if landing treads and panels are used in the install the cost will be in the $1,200-$1,500 price range. Brazilian Cherry

Unfinished

Brazilian Cherry is also one of our more popular wood species. This exotic species of wood ranges from salmon red to orange brown with dark brown streaks a golden luster. A project involving 13 unfinished Brazilian Cherry retro treadsand 13 primed white risers will typically fall into the $1,000-$1,200 prize range. As with the red oak species the type of riser desired will influence the price of the overall order. Using 13 unfinished Brazilian Cherry risers will push the prices range to $1600-$2000. Our landing treads and panels are also available on our website and can increase the price of your install to $1,400-$1,700 price range.

Prefinished 

Our Brazilian Cherry treads are available in prefinished which will adds a nice flare and gloss to our Brazilian Cherry treads. Using 12 Brazilian Cherry prefinished clear treads and 13 primed white risers will cost anywhere from $1,500-$1,800. If Brazilian Cherry natural risers are used the price of the overall order will increase closer to the $2,500-$2,500 range.
