The skirtboard (sometimes called a stringer or simply skirt) is a flat board that is installed along the side of a staircase. Skirtboards can be used to hide the edge of exposed risers or installed on the inside wall of a stair. Our unfinished Red Oak skirtboard is 11 1/2" wide x 3/4" thick. Our skirtboards are edge glued like our stair treads with color and grain matched Red Oak hardwood. This edge gluing process helps our Red Oak skirtboard resist warping and cupping. We can generally make skirtboards in any width, length, and thickness, if you would like a to explore different dimensions, please contact us. Please note: Product longer than 8' can not be shipped via UPS.

  1. Q:Do you supply the skirt boards in 16,18 or even 20'? Are thicknesses available in 1 3/4 " oak veneer laminate board or ply? For supply in the Toronto area. Kind Regards Philip
