The skirtboard (sometimes called a stringer) is a flat board that is installed along the side of a staircase. Skirtboards can be used to hide the edge of exposed risers or installed on the inside wall of a stair.

The red oak sample pack contains 2 pieces of each stain color to show the expected color range of each stain. For species other than red oak, the sample pack contains one piece, roughly 8" x 11-1/2" sample of the wood species.

By ordering the skirtboard prefinished, you'll have a great match between your stair treads and your skirting. Our skirtboards are edge glued like our stair treads with color and grain matched Red Oak hardwood. This edge gluing process helps our Red Oak skirtboard resist warping and cupping.
