A finished sample of any of our wood species can also be ordered individually.

The red oak sample pack contains 2 pieces of each stain color to show the expected color range of each stain. For species other than red oak, the sample pack contains one piece, roughly 8" x 11-1/2" sample of the wood species.

  1. Q:The finish looks really dark and the name Ebony means black. Is it black or really dark brown.
    A:The Ebony Stain color is a very dark brown, almost black. We recommend the Red Oak Sample Pack that includes the ebony sample to be extra sure of the color.   3. Q:Do you have matching tongue and groove landing material for approximately a 3x3 landing?
    A:Yes - we do have material for a 3x3 landing. Our landing panel system is designed just for this purpose: https://www.stair-treads.com/moulding-and-accessories/landing-panel-system.html It's available in all of our stock stain colors. If you have other species (such as White Oak, Brazilian Cherry, etc), we can still source material to fill your landings.   4. Q:What is the finish? Matte, satin, semi gloss or high gloss? Do you have samples?
    A:Our standard finish is a semi-gloss. We have a new low-sheen finish that is also available by special order. Our Red Oak Sample Pack has our standard finish applied over our stock stain colors.
