Low Country Maple Retro Tread (Closed)

The Low Country Maple Collection offers our white hard maple in three stain colors and a natural (prefinished clear) color. Stain colors available in our Low Country Maple include:

Mt. Pleasant
Sullivan's Island
Georgetown
Natural (Prefinished Clear)

These prefinished closed retro treads are the perfect products for do-it-yourselfers. Due to the retro style, these treads can be installed over your preexisting stairs without having to remove them. The box style means that these treads are meant to be installed in an area where there is a wall on both sides of the stair case. Because these maple treads are prefinished there is no need for the messy application of stain or numerous coats of polyurethane.

Seeing the stain colors in your home's lighting allows you to select the best stain color to coordinate with the design and color pallet in your home. The red oak sample pack contains 2 pieces of each stain color to show the expected color range of each stain. For species other than red oak, the sample pack contains one piece, roughly 8" x 11-1/2" sample of the wood species.

Details

A closed stair tread is a stair tread with a wall on both sides of the staircase. Low Country Maple stair treads are a full inch thick on the bullnose and 3/4" thick along the tread body and are 11 1/2" deep. Closed stair treads will not typically have balusters that directly intersect the tread. If the right end of your stair tread is exposed, you may want to consider a "Low Country Maple Right Mitered Return tread". If the left edge is exposed, you need a " Low Country Maple Left Mitered Return" style stair tread. Also consider a Low Country Maple Landing Tread for the very top of your staircase and matching Low Country Maple Retro Risers for the vertical space between each step.

Q:In the low country maple picture the largest piece shown appears to be a platinum type color but doesn't seem to be among the choices.

A:We have a Maple sample pack available that we can send out to you. We also offer custom color matching.
